Vegetable oil replacement by fish oil?

In recent years' vegetable oil is being replaced by fish oil for its availability since fish production has been increased remarkably. Vegetable oil has been a great source of essential fatty acid for aquaculture. But it could be cost effective. Fish meal and fish oil could be a diet for growing fish population. A study was carried out by Torrecilas and colleagues to see if fish oil has a negative impact on fish growth. The study went for 90 days and the fishes were carefully observed. After the trial period it was discovered that there was no difference in growth rate of fishes. This was a great finding by the team. Meeting the dietary requirement of protein in human population comes largely from fish. Therefore, achieving sustainable aquaculture sector could use raw materials for marine fish diet which can increase the fish production.
